Next Steps

What do I do with my life after the GAMSAT?

well....

  • Complete UCAS application
  • Get a reference for my UCAS app
  • Finish that bloody personal statement! (I'll do a post about personal statements as well)
  • Finish my degree with a first (hopefully)
  • Try and think of a dissertation topic.
  • Enjoy my freedom from GAMSAT! YEY

If you have any questions about what you need to do and when you need to do it by for medicine or student finance crap just post a comment!

  2. Hey!
You want to start doing some work experience as soon as you can, woo this summer holidays would be good, and during uni holidays this year, that way you can get a good variety of roles for when you write your personal statement. Then in your second year you can focus on getting your choices sorted and sorting out exams and a bit more work experience!

  3. So getting lots of work experience/shadowing and volunteering as early as you can is good! Your uni should be able to help you out with volunteering in your area!

  6. Hello :) (btw I think you doing this blog is amazing!)
I am a first year Biomedical science student and I was just wondering about the finance side ? I'm 21, iv already got a loan from student finance, if I was to do medicine after I graduate what would I have to pay ? would I get a loan ? because I totally couldn't afford to pay for everything myself :)

    thankkk you !

    1. Hi Charlotte, sorry I've been away so long, third year is killing me! With regards to finance I was planning on going down the forces route. Basically once you get onto a medical course, the forces will fund your degree, with the NHS funding you final year or 2 I think. I was in the same position, i literally had no idea how to fund med school so I organised some stuff with the Army! xxxx
